| There will always be the fear of infinity, the unstoppable passing of
time and the fear that life is swiftly passing by. The fear of
infinity and time are in a real way linked together in the sense that
everything out there is constantly and relentlessly changing.
Regardless of how far one forces their mind to try and encompass the
vast expanse of space and time one should be left with the knowledge
that that's not even the half of it. You are given a brief and
fleeting moment here on this wonderful planet. There are so many
places to explore and experience. It can be ugly and disagreeable or
it can be a halcyon paradise where just feeling the wind on your face
is one of life's greatest joys. It's these fears and these joyous
feelings that drive my passion for photography. By taking the time to
try and capture the moment as best as I can I feel that I've
experience the scene more fully. I've paid attention to the fine
details trying to get that perfect shot that most people would miss. I
feel that it's my duty as a photographer to find those places or
moments and capture them, to freeze them in time, so that others may
know of that beauty that is out there.

| These paintings are from a series entitled The Illusion Of Mattering, which embodies metaphors and their relation to personal icons, the signifiers that we retain and become the core of our stories. Most of us only have a few stories to tell as they all return to enter current conversations. Some are based on truth and others are based on lies; all are invented. Still they are the stories that make up who we are. “How aren’t you?” is a greeting as contemplative as the images it invokes. Our composition swirls around us: who we are, who we want to be, who we project to be.
“I love the part of you I want to see, and more, the part I want to be.”
The horizon, sunsets, caves, physics, metaphysics, the Mystery, solitude; these are the locations of my inspiration, places where shadows become sentinels, places where String theory and the Trinity both tempt to define our universe, places where ‘when’ and ‘where’ collapse, places where memories are anticipated and coincidence is required of opposites.
“Love and hate are bottled and found on the same height shelf, near Rumi.”
Titles are nearly as important to me as the image; they allow poesy of meaning. However, I try not to create titles that are so concrete as to prevent the viewer from bringing in their own stories which might share icons with mine.
“No one is your friend and no one is your enemy; everyone is your teacher.”

| Color is an immediate trigger inspiring not only photos but subsequent painting. Traveling the world and seeing many unique and ancient cultures also inspires me, as the beauty and unique arts of each culture captures my imagination. |

| The Lollipop Man Visits the Baja Series The art collage is a love story of two people connecting cultures for a brief space in time, experiencing love, and creating a shared passion that last long after the moment is past. As time passes, the imaginary character of the lollipop man travels through the world seeking balance and contentment on different continents searching for his truth and inner peace. In the collage each piece is moved several times until unification among the colors and shapes is found to create the right accessories. Each symbol is a piece of the mystery of life.
